About Akojo

Why it exists, and who it is for.

A letter from the founder

I could not see my own money, so I built something that could.

I was paid in dollars on Wise and spent in naira from Stanbic. My savings were in Cowrywise and my stocks in Bamboo. Every app told me its own part of the truth. None of them told me the whole of it.

So I kept a spreadsheet. It was out of date the moment I closed it, and it only ever knew what I remembered to type in.

Akojo began as the tool I built to replace it. It reads every account, adds the things no bank holds, and tells me when it has not heard from one. I built it in Lagos, for anyone whose money lives in more than one place.

I am still building it, and writing down what I learn as I go.
